課程概述

This is a course intended for students with basic knowledge of statistics, calculus, and ecology. We will discuss classic ecological theory as well as recent advance in the mathematical ecology. Students will select a subject base on his/her own interest and present the progress of the chosen topic. The class is mainly in the form of discussion. The topics may include:
1. Single species models
2. Species interaction models
3. Community models
4. Age structure and demography
5. Assembly rule
6. Foodweb
7. Species abundance
8. Species diversity and system stability
9. Metabolic theory
10. Life history
11. Neutral theory
12. Ecological patterns
13. Ecological chaos

The objectives are to provide students opportunities to discuss recent advances in theoretical ecology.
